The Perpetual Crisis in Omaha City Council District 2
Why vote, and why would anyone want to live there?

Primary - April 1, 2025
Top two-(2) candidates advance to General Election

General Election - May 13, 2025

The City of Omaha's District 2 has been, is, and will undoubtably remain the absolute worst place to live in Omaha!

Political "leadership" in District 2 is perennially pathetic. Why would anyone want to live in District 2? Here, look at the facts:

As represented by Omaha Police Chief Schmaderer, the Omaha Police Department has a well documented history of intentionally distorting crime data to its advantage. For example, as frequently detailed in Omaha Police Department's annual reports:

1. Frequently, the number of sworn officers does not consistently reconcile with . . . the number of budgeted, or actual, or reported sworn officers.

2. The actual "percent" of sworn officers does not reconcile with the reported data. The "police" math does not reconcile with "regular" math.

3. There's absolutely no effort to increase the number of sworn Black males (60-ish) and sworn Black females (12-ish), as the average number of sworn has remained unchanged for over fifteen-(15) years.

CRITICAL FACT-BASED OBSERVATIONS:

A. Given that staffing levels for sworn OPD officers has not significantly deviated over the past fifteen-(15) years, and if, as stated by Omaha Police Chief Schmaderer crime in Omaha is down, why is there a need for more police officers?

B. Since Omaha, Nebraska continues to incarcerate more Black male juveniles and Black male adults at rates higher than their proportion of the population, and since Nebraska (Omaha) is no longer listed as one of the Top 10 states for Black homicide victimization rate, why does OPD continue to target and incarcerate Black male juveniles and Black male adults at rates higher than their proportion of the population?

C. As originally and intentionally engineered and sustained by "elite," politically powerful and affluent White men, when will the targeted and perpetual cycle of poverty, poor education, unemployment, arrest, prosecution, conviction, and incarceration of Black men ever going to be enough?

4. Given these overt discrepancies in OPD police data, which include its failure to consistently and promptly comply with the Uniform Crime Report (UCR) and/or the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS), the apparent lack of oversight by the Omaha City Council to require consistency in reporting only empowers OPD to be manipulative and negligent.

QUESTION: How "exactly" did previous elected representatives for District 2 address the above facts?

ANSWER:
There's absolutely no evidence they did anything!

Back in 2009, candidates seeking to
represent District 2 said this . . .

Frank Brown said this . . . Cheryl Weston said this . . .

Ben Gray said this . . . Cheryl Weston said this . . .

Did registered voters in District 2 take time to
thoroughly review the profiles of all candidates ?

Back in 2021, again, most candidates seeking to
represent District 2 held no hands-on subject matter expertise in municipal government.

Can someone explain why two candidates with absolutely no prior municipal government experience, only a high school diploma, and with no business acumen working directly with City government were repeatedly re-elected?

Here, from 2021, are the previous caliber of candidates for District 2:

FACT: The reason why no candidates from District 2 possess hands-on subject matter expertise in municipal government, is because the City of Omaha does not hire, develop, and promote minority candidates to hold and sustain executive level positions in City government.

QUESTION: Are registered voters in Omaha's worst political district, District 2, going to yet again elect a representative who fails to move the needle?

Again, the "Primary" is April 1, 2025

Top two-(2) candidates advance to General Election

The "General Election" is May 13, 2025

For White people outside of District 2 looking in, especially White-owned media, there are consistently more candidates running to represent District 2 than for any other district. Such "disarray" says less about political freedoms, but says much more about Willie Lynch-inspired chaos, perpetual divisiveness, and an unwillingness of Black people to actually work together.

Are registered voters of District 2 going to continue to elect a candidate who represents the mediocrity of the status quo, or are you finally going to vote like you've got some common sense?

RECOMMENDATION:
The only individual with an extremely well-docomented public commitment to residents of District 2, which includes a robust knowledge of the inner-workings of municipal government to include, at her own initiative, routine attendance and presentations before the Omaha City Council, Omaha Land Bank, and Douglas County Commission is . . . Cheryl Weston. Weston is the most capable, smartest, most tenacious, most professional, and most qualified individual to represent residents of District 2. Unfortunately, she's not running. So, you're stuck with the perpetual mediocrity of the latest pool of candidates.,

I welcome your feedback.
