Michael McPherson - Lifetime Award Winner 2020 - I was born on October 16, 1946 to Mac and Lucille McPherson in Cheyenne, Wyoming. We lived there two years than moved to Omaha, Nebraska. We then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. We then moved to Kansas City, Missouri and Stayed there until I Graduated from Lillis High School. I then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to go to school at the University of Nebraska. After two years of school I moved back to Kansas City and went to work at Western Electric for one and a half years. I then started a job with Xerox on December 16, 1968. I stayed with Xerox until June 26, 2006. When I retired I was a coach at Southeast High School from 1982-1986, and 1991-1995, for the jumps; during this time my daughter, Kimberly, was in High School and my coaching continued until my second daughter, Kris, was done with school. I also have eight Grandkids: Halinka, Kole, Kenzie, Max, Kaylee, Keegan, Taylor, and Kylin. I started as an Official with the University of Nebraska In 1976 and continued until 2019 when I had to stop being a Official because of medical reasons.

As an Oficial I worked in the High Jump, Pole Vault, Lone Jump and as a Timer for eight years. Then, one day I became a Starter when only one Starter showed up. My role as an Official evolved to becoming a Starter after that, and I've performed in the role of a Starter until the end of 2019. I've been an Official for 43 years, and I've started meets In Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Colorado, South Dakota, California, New Mexico, Texas, and of course, Nebraska. |
