Rinehart Kruse — Hall of Fame 2020 - Rinehart Kruse is a lifelong Nebraskan. He was born on the 4" of July at home on the family farm in Burr, Nebraska, that he still owns with his siblings today. He attended school in a one-room school house until he entered high school. He never missed a day of school from 1st grade through graduation in 12th grade, where we was very active, playing multiple sports including basketball and baseball.” His dedication and loyalty were on full display throughout his career as he worked for 46 years at Lincoln Equipment Company (a Caterpillar dealership) until his retirement as service manager in 2007. He is especially loyal to his family, he has been married to Alice for 58 years. His first date with Alice was delayed two weeks because of his prior church youth group commitment. Once he connected with the former Nebraska City cheerleader, they never looked back. They raised three daughters who are all lifetime sports and husker fans. Rinehart and Alice have been lifelong cornhusker men’s basketball fans.

They first attended basketball games at the coliseum, then through the Bob Devaney years and they’ve attended every game at PBA. Twenty two years ago, Rinehart’s childhood friend asked him to help volunteer at the university track and field meets in the pole vaulting event. He has been volunteering in this capacity ever since. Besides husker sports, Rinehart has been an active member of Eastridge Presbyterian Church for nearly 50 years, including serving as a deacon, trustee and usher. Additional hobbies include working at the family farm, where he was born, in Burr. Rinehart and Alice raised three daughters, Kim, Julie and Jennifer. They have two son-in-laws Dan and John, and five cornhusker bleeding grandchildren Katie, Libby, Jacob, Ben, and Claire. Although his daughter Jennifer and his son-in-law Dan have passed, they forever remain in Rinehart and Alice’s hearts. Rinehart looks forward to many more years at his family’s side, cheering on and working for his beloved comhuskers. |

Dan Parker — Hall of Fame 2020 - Dan graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He served in the military as a Naval Officer for three years and is a Vietnam War veteran. He spent the greatest part of his career working for the Nebraska Department of Veterans’ Affairs and retired from that agency in 2016. Dan has always been interested in sports. In high school he earned All-Conference football honors after playing Center for Papillion High School. While raising two sons, he coached various soccer, football, basketball and baseball teams. He and wife, Cathy are avid UNL Volleyball fans and attend all home games. Family is important to Dan. He and Cathy have two sons: Chad, a Utility Electrician at UNL and Todd, General Manager of Forward Sports Marketing in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. They have four grandchildren, Alec, Lauryn, Micah, and Jace. |

Michael McPherson - Lifetime Award Winner 2020 - I was born on October 16, 1946 to Mac and Lucille McPherson in Cheyenne, Wyoming. We lived there two years than moved to Omaha, Nebraska. We then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. We then moved to Kansas City, Missouri and Stayed there until I Graduated from Lillis High School. I then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to go to school at the University of Nebraska. After two years of school I moved back to Kansas City and went to work at Western Electric for one and a half years. I then started a job with Xerox on December 16, 1968. I stayed with Xerox until June 26, 2006. When I retired I was a coach at Southeast High School from 1982-1986, and 1991-1995, for the jumps; during this time my daughter, Kimberly, was in High School and my coaching continued until my second daughter, Kris, was done with school. I also have eight Grandkids: Halinka, Kole, Kenzie, Max, Kaylee, Keegan, Taylor, and Kylin. I started as an Official with the University of Nebraska In 1976 and continued until 2019 when I had to stop being a Official because of medical reasons.

As an Oficial I worked in the High Jump, Pole Vault, Lone Jump and as a Timer for eight years. Then, one day I became a Starter when only one Starter showed up. My role as an Official evolved to becoming a Starter after that, and I've performed in the role of a Starter until the end of 2019. I've been an Official for 43 years, and I've started meets In Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Colorado, South Dakota, California, New Mexico, Texas, and of course, Nebraska. |
