2016 Service Award Winner, Larry Bartels - Larry Bartels is a volunteer track and field official for the University of Nebraska. He is married to Ruth Ann Bartels and they have three daughters, Laura, Melissa, and Michelle, and five grandchildren. Larry earned his degree in physical therapy from the University of Iowa in 1964. He was a physical therapist in Lincoln and surrounding communities for 47 years. In 1973 he was elected to the Nebraska Wesleyan University Athletic Hall of Fame. During his physical therapy career, he served on the Board of Multiple Sclerosis, the PT Board of Examiners, and also served two terms on the Nebraska Board of Health. He has also served several terms on the St. Mark’s United Methodist Foundation Board. Larry and his wife are members of the Relay Club. This is Larry’s 16th year serving as a Husker track official.
