In the immediate wake of the terroist attack on September 11, 2001, I posted the following:

"Yes, I am a citizen of the United States of America. The United States is a VERY diverse country, perhaps the single most diverse country in the world. You will find every nationality here and with it different dreams, different hopes, different agendas. In my country, which is NOT perfect, there is a very real opportunity and potential for anyone to achieve phenomenal success without regard to their age, race, sex, creed, national origin, ethnicity, sexual preference, physical ability, marital status, religion or whatever. We are not the first, and we are not unique in embracing democracy and promoting the values of a unified republic. With democracy, we achieve more by valuing life and advancing culture than killing people and destroying culture. Threatening lives does not persuade acceptance of a terrorist agenda or religious dogma but, at best, only a temporary acquiescence and a smoldering desire for revenge.

Unfortunately, for millions of White people in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia, rather than actively and consistently practicing the egalitarian principles they established as the cornerstone for their so-called political democracy and religious beliefs, they openly and violently seek to continue the oppression and genocide of people of color. Accordingly, given the on-going contradiction and hypocrisy of White people against people of color, why would or should any person of color trust any White person?

WHITE PRIDE

There's absolutely nothing wrong with being proud of who you are.

Having confidence in one's own worth and abilities is a cornerstone for developing positive self-esteem and self-reliance. This paradigm, which is a good thing, is constructively taught by parents to their children throughout the world, among all cultures, ethnic groups, and tribes to inspire confidence, but not conceit. So, let's not hate White people for being prideful, and keep in mind, not all White people are racist, or evil. There are literally millions and million and millions of great, smart, kind, generous, and simply wonderful White people all across the planet. However, when being prideful leads to a false sense of worth and importance, for any race, that's wrong.

Despite amendments to the U.S. Constitution to establish civil rights, nevertheless, there's very little improvement in the social, political, or financial status for the overwhelming majority of people of color. Consequently, the political and religious machinations of White people exist as and will forever remain a contradiction, hypocrisy, and a source of distrust, because the overwhelming majority of White people, the elite ruling class and subordinate rank and file, either actively support the continued existence of, or acquiesce to a state of perpetual injustice to people of color. For example:

1. As established by law, and affirmed by the U.S. Supreme court, and all prevailing social norms, practices, and religion, only White men, primarily property owners, were deemed to be created equal and established as citizens, eligible to vote, to own property, etc.

2. Native Americans (residents of North America prior to its "alleged" discovery by Christopher Columbus in 1492 and the ongoing victims of genocide by White people to this very day) were prohibited from any consideration of equality to White men, they were not citizens, and were prohibited from voting.

3. Black people (beginning with the introduction of slavery in 1620 in Jamestown, Virginia) were prohibited from any consideration of equality to White men, they were not citizens, and were prohibited from voting. Even after the Civil War, when in 1868 passage of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution established Black people (former slaves) as citizens, no matter, Black people did not have the universal right to vote because the "right to vote" was subject to laws established by individual states. Consequently, many states required Black people to pay poll taxes, literacy tests, property qualifications, arbitrary registration fees, and to pass skewed discrimination-based tests or other preemptive barriers designed to limit or prevent Black people from voting.

4. Latinos, who along with Native Americans, resided in great numbers throughout territories west of the Mississippi river, were prohibited from any consideration of equality to White men, they were not citizens, and were prohibited from voting. In fact, even after the Mexian-American war in 1848 the Treaty of Guadulupe-Hidalgo established U.S. citizenship to Mexicans living in territories conquered by the U.S., but it did not allow Mexians (Latinos) the right to vote.

5. Asians, who were previously barred from immigration by the Immigration Act of 1917, did not obtain the right to vote in the United States until passage of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952.

6. Women, all women, were not considered equal to men, and women did not obtain the right to vote until passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1920.

JUDAISM, CHRISTIANITY, and ISLAM

White people and brainwashed Black people believe the Bible, Tora, Quran, and other religioius documents actually represent the "inspired" words of God. If true, as "documented" in the Bible, what did Jesus look like?

Daniel 10:6 (KJV) 6 - His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.

Revelation 1:15 (KJV) 15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

In summary, as clearly established by the Bible, Tora, Quran and other religious documents Jesus had "dark" skin, like brass, as if "burned" in a furnace, which could NOT White but only Black. Nevertheless, as pictured below (click image to enlarge), White controlled religions and White controlled media continue to shove a blue-eyed, blonde-haired, White Jesus down our throats.

QUESTION: IF JESUS WAS BLACK AS DEFINED IN THE "INSPIRED WORDS OF GOD," WHY DOES HE ALWAYS APPEAR AS A WHITE MAN IN ALL WHITE OWNED AND WHITE CONTROLLED PRINT AND BROADCAST MEDIA?

RESPONSE: Whitewashing in film and White-man as savior in film was, is, and will remain the practice of White-owned and White-controlled print, broadcast, and film to cast White people as ultimate conquerors over people of color, and White-people cast as actors in the roles of minorities. For example, the real "Lone Ranger," was a Black man named Bass Reeves. White people wore Black face makeup to present themselves as Black people, White people used buck teeth and yellow makeup to present themselves as Asians, White people used red makeup to present themselves as Native Americans, and White people continue to make these kinds of films to routinely showcase their successful enslavement, genocide, oppression, and acts of discrimination against people of color.

Guy Aoki said African Americans "have long felt the full brunt of the 'whitewashing' of roles" and that Asians have experienced it as well. Native Americans have also been subjected to this, seeing their historic leaders and warriors portrayed by whites. Source: Wikipedia

“I don’t know what most White people in this country feel, but I can only conclude what they feel based from the state of their institutions.   I don’t know if White Christians hate Negroes or not, but I know that we have a Christian church that is White, and we have a Christian church that is Black.  I know as Malcolm X once put it, “It’s the most segregated hour in America life is high noon on Sunday!”  It says a great deal to me about a Christian nation.

 

It means I can’t afford to trust most White Christians, and I certainly can’t afford to trust the Christian church.  I don’t know whether the labor unions and their bosses really hate me, that doesn’t matter, but I know I’m not in their unions.  I don’t know if the real estate lobbyists have anything against Black people, but I know the real estate lobbyist keep me in the ghetto.  I don’t know if the Board of Education hates Black people, but I know the text books they give my children to read, and the schools we have to go to.  Now, this is the evidence.  You want me to make an act of faith, risking myself, my wife, my woman, my sister, my children on some . . . idealism, which you assure me exists in America which I have never seen.”

It's the ongoing practice of so-called "religious people," especially White people of privilege, to "pick and choose" just how relevant the alleged "inspired words of God" are to them and to the rest of their flock. During the enslavement of Black people, and after the so-called end of slavery, nevertheless, Bible-thumping, church-going White men and women actively demonstrated their contempt of the Bible and contempt of the so-called "Word of God" by owning, beating, raping and killing Black people.

Again, as clearly validated throughout U.S. history, without regard to any religious beliefs, White people have actively lied to, killed, or incarcerated (reservations) Native Americans. Just ask the Lakotah!

As far as the "Golden Rule" is concerned, historically and today, the clear majority of White people want nothing to do with it, and White people intentionally opt out of compliance to the "Golden Rule" whenever doing so conflicts with White-privilege.

Again, there's absolutely nothing wrong with being proud of who you are. Conversely, as mandated by White people, in addition to generations of genocide and oppression, Black people have been brainwashed by White people NOT to be proud, NOT to have self-esteem, and to literally hate themselves.

What the hell happened to being Black and Proud?

AND WHY BLACK MEN CAN'T DO A DAMN THING ABOUT IT!"

Africa is a continent, not a country. It’s important to establish this point of reference to those who embrace the “African-American” handle. For me, being “African-American” is as ludicrous as being “European-American.” It’s highly unlikely any U.S. citizen of French decent will embrace being referred to as an “European-American” over their very distinct origin from France. While my ancestors clearly came from “somewhere” in Africa (Ghana? Liberia? Cameroon? Angola? Ethiopia? Sudan?), I prefer to label myself Black, not African, because not knowing my true ancestry is exactly what establishes my uniqueness as a member of a race without a country of origin and, frankly, I don’t believe anyone, especially descendants of former slave-trading White Europeans (the English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italians, etc.) should ever forget! After all, Jews will NEVER let anyone forget the Holocaust. Fair is fair.

First, I’m Black, but I’m also proud of the White in me and the Native American in me! The diversity in me matters. Among other things, “Black” is also defined as the inclusion of all colors and, frankly, when we consider all of the races blended into the former slaves of African origin, we truly have evolved into a truly unique race that’s, yes, significantly “African,” but also significantly Native American and White and Asian and so on. I view the many textures of Black hair as a wondrous, beautiful thing and not something to hide, disguise or be ashamed of. Our diversity matters!

Second, Black men and women share the same genetic code. Of course, there are always exceptions, but for the most part Black women have hair just like Black men. It ain’t straight. It ain’t blonde. And no matter how many times you see Oprah do her white-girl-hair-flip, realize, it ain’t natural, it came out of a box. Unfortunately, in an attempt to acquire and maintain “White looking hair” for many Black women, if not most, one often wonders what the hell happened with the touch-up?


 


Third, there’s nothing wrong with finding White people attractive. There’s nothing wrong with valuing White standards of beauty. This narrative should NOT be perceived as a hatchet-job against White people. On the contrary, as important as it is to value and, to some extent, mirror the “standards of beauty” of the “ruling class,” lets not lose sight that all people, all ethnic groups have perceptions of beauty. Unfortunately, self-esteem is severely compromised when ethnic expression or self-determination is subjugated - which is the history of the Black experience in the United States of America. Sadly, Black people - not White people - have been the single greatest victims of derogatory images in the United States, with "Being Black" typically perceived as undesirable for White people, and sadely, "Being Black" is especially undesirable for brainwashed Black people. For example, consider the “visual evolution” of Dennis Rodman, Ru Paul, Lil’ Kim, and especially Michael Jackson.

Having been brainwashed by White people to have contempt for their own race, the need to be and look White is ingrained into the Black psyche!

The Need To Be White?

Beginning with the proper historical perspective, prior to being captured and enslaved by the Spanish, Portuguese, French, English, et al, Africans wore their hair naturally. It wasn’t called an “Afro”. This was true for the majority of tribes throughout Africa, including civilizations as evolved as the Egyptians. Amongst the African tribes and civilizations special hair treatment and/or dress was usually restricted to the elite, the privileged, tribal leaders or for special occasions. It was either not practical or permitted for the general population to engage in special hair treatments. For both generation “X” and baby boomers please check your National Geographic issues over the past 100 years through today and you’ll clearly see the majority of African men and women wearing their hair naturally.

Unfortunately, coming to America presented the rather immediate and long-term challenge of acceptance by White people. At its worst, White slave owners demanded their niggers to look less, well, niggerish. Black people had the "option" to acquiesce to White standards of beauty or face severe consequences which could include death. This complete overhaul of the Black body and, yes, MIND, meant the brainwashing of Black thinking to include:

1. wearing proper clothing mandated by White people (dirty rags and worn clothes for the field niggers versus clean and pleated clothes for the house niggers);

2. eating proper food (scraps for the field niggers versus the table scraps for the master's house niggers);

3. believing in the proper White religion (out with tribal customs, beliefs and religion and in with Jesus Christ, Catholicism, and Christianity that permitted the rape of African women on Saturday night and Sunday morning church services admonishing adultery); and most importantly

4. the proper White appearance (get rid of the “steel wool” natural hair look and change to a Madame C.J. Walker's chemically processed hair special).

In their article, "Black or White," Avonie Brown and Laura Liebarson detail the historical experience of the need for Black people to become White. As clearly documented in skin bleaching advertisements directed at dark skinned Black people during the 1930s and 1940s (at right), it just wasn't "politically correct" to look too dark and nappy (the other "N" word). Unforunately, most Black people don't realize how they've been manipulated to straighten their hair, and to lighten their skin using chemicals or, as satirized in Spike Lee's 1988 movie, "School Daze, " by breading primarily with lighter-skinned "wannabe" Blacks (or White folks) instead of darker-skinned "jigaboo" Blacks in order to acquire god hair and good skin?

Not until as recently as 1992 was the sale of across-the-counter skin-bleaching creams containing hydroquinone, which is toxic and a potential carcinogen, banned in South Africa. Nevertheless, there continues to be an international market for the sale of dangerous skin-bleaching creams specifically targeted to ethnic groups of color.


Coerced to lighten your skin and straighten your hair? In 1981’s “Women, Race & Class” Angela Y. Davis wrote, “Sexual coercion was, rather, an essential dimension of the social relations between slavemaster and slave. In other words, the right claimed by slaveowners and their agents over the bodies of female slaves was a direct expression of their presumed property rights over Black people as a whole.” As with the legendary Willie Lynch letter, this manipulation is vile. No, it’s contemptible. No, it’s despicable. No, it was and remains blatantly evil. It’s also been very effective! If you’re not familiar with the letter, it’s presented below.

How to Make a Slave

Gentlemen: I greet you here on the bank of the James River in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and twelve. First, I shall thank you, The Gentlemen of the Colony of Virginia, for bringing me here. I am here to help you solve some of your problems with slaves. Your invitation reached me on my modest plantation in the West Indies where I have experimented with some of the newest and still the oldest methods for the control of slaves. Ancient Rome would envy us if my program was implemented. As our boat sailed south on the James River, named for our illustrious King, whose version of the Bible we cherish, I saw enough to know that your problem is not unique. While Rome used cords of wood as crosses for standing human bodies along its old highways, in great numbers you are here using the tree and the rope on occasion.

I caught the whiff of a dead slave hanging from a tree a couple of miles back. You are losing valuable stock by hangings, you are having uprisings, slaves are running away, your crops are sometimes left in the fields too long for maximum profit, you suffer occasional fires, your animals are killed off.

Gentlemen, you know what your problems are: I do not need to elaborate. I am not here to enumerate your problems. I am here to introduce you to a method of solving them. In my bag here, I have a fool proof method for controlling your Black slaves. I guarantee everyone of you that if installed correctly, it will control the slaves for at least 300 years. My method is simple, any member of your family or any overseer can use it.

I have outlined a number of differences among the slaves: and I take these differences and make them bigger. I use fear, distrust and envy for control purposes. These methods have worked on my modest plantation in the West Indies and it will work throughout the South for you also. Take this simple little list of differences, and think about them. On top of my list is "Age" but it is only there because it starts with an "A": the second is "Color" or shade, there is intelligence, size, sex size of plantations, status on plantation, attitude of owners, whether the slaves live in the valley, on a hill, East, West, North, South, have fine or coarse hair, or is tall or short. Now that you have a list of differences, I shall give you an outline of action -- but before that, I shall assure you that distrust is stronger than trust, and envy is stronger than adulation, respect or admiration. The Black Slave, after receiving this indoctrination shall carry on and will become self re-fueling and self-generating for hundreds of years, maybe thousands.

Don't forget you must pit the old Black male vs. the young Black male and the young Black male vs. the old Black male. You must use the dark skin slaves vs. the light skin slaves and the light skin slaves vs. the dark skin slaves. You must use the female vs. the male, and the male vs. the female. You must also have you Caucasian servants and overseers distrust all Blacks, but it is necessary that your Black slaves trust and depend on us. They must love, respect and trust only us.

Gentlemen, these kits are your keys to control. Use them. Have your wives and children use them. Never miss an opportunity. My plan is guaranteed, and the good thing about this plan is that if used intensely and properly for one year, the slaves themselves will remain perpetually distrustful.

The Evolution of Michael "White Boy" Jackson




 

So ingrained that in 1905 Sarah Breedlove, better known as Madame C.J. Walker, became the first female Black millionaire with her famous metal heating combs and hair straightening products [http://madamcjwalker.com].

So ingrained that in 1954, under the pretense of a $250.00 "vacation" loan from a finance company, George E. Johnson established Johnson Products with Ultra Wave, a hair straightener for men.

So ingrained that in 1964 Edward and Bettiann Gardner founded Soft Sheen Products which became the #1 maker of ethnic hair care products in US and, rather ironically, in 1999 SOLD their company to Cosmair, a division of the White owned French cosmetics icon, L’Oreal. Obviously, the French believe they can do a much better job of selling the virtues of “how to look White by straightening the hair of Black women” than the previously Black owned company. Presented below is a particularly ironic advertisement from L’Oreal that promotes both White and Black men to “reach for the bleach” and go blonde! Yeah, Blonde! Again, what the hell happened to looking Black and Proud?

 

Even pre-teen Black girls are "brainwashed" to believe their natural hair isn't "lovely" and they can't be "lovely" until they get their hair relaxed . . . and straight like White girls.

So ingrained that in 1968 Pro-Line Corporation of Dallas, Texas began its “commitment to excellence in ethnic hair care” by helping to straighten more of it.

So ingrained that in 1973 Johnson Publishing Company (Jet, Ebony, etc.) founded Fashion Fair Cosmetics in response (who asked?) to the problems that women of color supposedly had in finding shades to match their rich skin tones (below).

In trying to capture the evolving state of Black hair care where better to look than, of course, the legendary icon for Black identity, Jet Magazine. Frankly, it makes sense to review the aforementioned February 21, 2000 issue of Jet Magazine because the feature story is “The Hottest Females In Rap Music.” Rap, as I’m sure you’re aware, is yet another branch in the evolution of Black music and, given the backdrop of 1960s “Black Is Beautiful” movement, just how far have Black women come to embrace their ethnicity? The cover featured (at right):

• Eve, her hair is dyed platinum blonde;
• Lil’ Kim, appears to be wearing a platinum blonde wig;
• Foxy Brown, has her hair processed and it looks greasy; and
• Solé, either has her hair processed or, appears to have “good hair!”

If Jet Magazine is a mirror of Black society, then surely it must be publishing a fair representation of contemporary Black America. Therefore, looking even closer at this issue, page by page, every article, every advertisement, should provide a snap shot to how we look and how Black people define themselves. Unfortunately, the images of Black women as presented by Jet magazine bear little resemblance to the prideful “Black Is Beautiful” spirit of the 1960s.

As represented in the February 21, 2000 issue of Jet Magazine approximately 87% of Black females process/straighten (chemical or hot flat iron) their hair while conversely only 3% of Black men do so. The clear majority of Black men elect to wear their hair naturally. Arguably, without actually interviewing and/or testing the hair of each individual photographed the validity of this survey is not scientific. Nothing More Than A Trend? Smokey vs. Nancy

Let’s take a couple of minutes to look at the “visual images” presented of two legendary Black recording artists: one male and one female, both about the same age. I’m a big fan of both and, with few exceptions, I have all of their recordings. Nancy Wilson was born on February 20, 1937, and was 66 years old in 2003. Smokey Robinson was born on February 19, 1940, and was 63 years old in 2003. Taken directly from their publicly released albums, follow the chronological evolution of their hair and the overall “image” they presented. One more thing, the point of this exercise is NOT to judge how “Black” Nancy and Smokey have been but to determine to what extent “Blackness” is a trend. Look closely!





































































Smokey Robinson clearly changed with the times. Prior to 1968 and from the start of the 1980s to the mid-1990s his hair was processed - perhaps in an effort to appear “youthful and contemporary,” perhaps not. Nancy Wilson has consistently, and beautifully, had her hair processed for over sixty years. Again, both Nancy and Smokey were raised prior to the 1960s civil right movement, Smokey was born on February 19, 1940 and will be 82 years old on February 19, 2022, and I believe, he has the right to define his own standards for “Being Black.” With so many younger performers struggling to stay fit, let’s not overlook both Nancy and Smokey remained how fit and attractive throughout their entire careers.

It’s likely that, in some cases, the album photos were taken before the actual year of release. Yet, this process still provides an excellent visual history to two legendary performers and how their visual images might have been influenced by the times.

Many Black women believe in order to look their best they must have processed/straight hair. Perhaps, you've heard Black women make the following statement, "I'd rather be dead than go on a job interview with nappy (unprocessed, unstraightened) hair. I'll never get hired looking ghetto!"

Enter Sophisticate's BLACK HAIR Styles and Care Guide Magazine (at left), with its primary focus to market, coerce, motivate, influence, promote, and sell hair care products to chemically straighten or color the hair of Black women in compliance with White standards of beauty. It's the best selling Black hair magazine and it's owned by White people (Associated Publications, Inc.).

Take a close look at the history of Black women who’ve been “anointed” by White male controlled designers and magazine editors as fashion models. Historically and today, as presented in “Skin Deep: Inside the World of Black Fashion Models” [©1998 by former Black fashion model Barbara Summers], the clear majority of Black women who convey their “Blackness” do so with straight, processed hair.

But shouldn’t Black women who model for White owned fashion magazines like Vogue, Comopolitan, and Elle be expected to present themselves in a manner palatable to White audiences? Okay, then, if this makes sense, how do we explain the predilection for Black women to present themselves before Black audiences the same way they present themselves to White audiences? Easy. White advertisers continue to be the bread-and-butter for all Black oriented publications, Black owned or not. It’s a sad statement when the majority of women from one culture systematically and blindly change their image - their hair - in preference and subjugation to another culture. In this regard, consider Black women like supermodel Donyale Luna (August 31, 1945 – May 17, 1979) who truly disliked being Black.


In 1966, Luna became the first black model to appear on the cover of Vogue. When Luna was asked whether or not her appearances in Hollywood films would benefit the cause of black actresses, Luna answered, "If it brings about more jobs for Mexicans, Asians, Native Americans, Africans, groovy. It could be good, it could be bad. I couldn't care less."

Arguably, you could say all cultures borrow from each other and the fact the majority of Black women straighten/process their hair is nothing more than a “cultural exchange.” Okay, if this is true, where’s the reciprocity? Answer: Blacks who conform to “White standards of beauty” are more likely to get employment and better treatment than those who don’t comply. Unfortunately, some Black people make Herculean efforts to comply with “White standards of beauty” and, neverthess, still look Black (or worse, like niggars). Do Black women really, really believe they have or can rebuild their physique to mirror compliance with the Doris Day Syndrome? What’s the Doris Day Syndrome?

In his 1969 book, “Dwight Macdonald On Movies,” the international critic metaphorically describes the syndrone of “White standards of beauty” as embodied in the form of legendary singer and actress, Doris Day:

DORIS DAY has become Betty Grable’s successor as a sex symbol that offends no one and so does well at the box office. She is as wholesome as a bowl of cornflakes and at least as sexy. She has the standard American figure: long-legged, tallish (everything is on the -ish side) with highish, smallish breasts and no hips or buttocks to speak of. And the standard American (female) face, speaking in terms of aspirations rather than of realities: Nordic blonde, features regular, nose shortish and straightish, lips thinnish, Good Bone Structure. Miss Grable’s chief physical asset was her legs, but Miss Day’s is her face, showing the increasing timidity of our mass eroticism, from Theda Bara to Grable to Day. It is a face unmarked by experience, thus titillating the American male’s Lolita complex, while at the same time, in contrast to Miss Grable’s blank prettiness, it is full of Character, or maybe just Niceishness, so that it also appeals to the ladies. No wonder Doris Day is Hollywood’s No. 1 box-office property. I suspect most American mothers would be pleased, and relieved, if their daughters grew up to resemble Doris Day. She has the healthy, antiseptic Good Looks and the Good Sport personality that the American middle class—that is, practically everybody—admires as a matter of duty. Especially the females. No competition.

Hum. The standard American figure. No hips or buttocks. Nordic blonde. Ah, yes, clearly, Dwight Macdonald was referring to Lil’ Kim (at left) and her Black female contemporaries.

Your common sense should tell you that so called "standards of beauty" have less to do with the narrow minded belief that "WHITE IS RIGHT" and more to do with LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Where you were born is the dominant factor for defining your core values, in particular, sexual and religious. For example, just like the White race, many Asian cultures consider the "purity" of their race compromised when mixed with other cultures, particularly Black people. World War II and the Vietnam War left many "Amerasian" children throughout southeast Asia and these "mixed" people are typically ostracized.

It's ironic for people to discriminate against people of mixed racial background, particularly when, as reported in the Denver Rocky Mountain News on May 2, 2000, a study finally mapped mitochondrial DNA [i.e., women] and Y-Chromosome [i.e., men] and proved the ancestral (original) human population lived somewhere in Africa and started to split up sometime after 144,000 years ago or so. Hey, maybe miscegenation is nothing more than humanity evolving back to its original monoculture [a single, homogeneous culture without diversity or dissension] template! Realizing this, enlightened Black women and men shouldn't buy into the "hype" of White race "standards of beauty" and, instead, embrace their uniqueness, secure in their own identity, and without a need to be White-like.

White Businesses Are Making The Most Profit On Making Black People Look White

Is The Real Issue Sex, Or Race, Or Both?

Okay, maybe, just maybe sex, i.e., being female, is the bigger issue. The argument could be made that the profit-oriented White-male controlled cosmetics industry is targeting ALL women. Without regard to race, women of all races straighten, curl, die and do all kinds of things to their hair for whatever reason, even just for the sake of having fun. Okay, that’s true.

And there’s considerable pressure on Black women to fall in step with each other. Take the White and Black media-hyped pseudo-feud between legendary Olympic gold medalists Jackie Joyner-Kersee and the late Florence “FloJo” Griffith Joyner. In her 1997 book, “A Kind Of Grace” Joyner-Kersee writes, “Invariably they referred to her as glamorous and to me as conservative, and implied that I was jealous of her. I had no reason to envy Florence. I’m very secure with myself. But we were friendly, and we were teammates who supported each other. I choose not to put on a lot of makeup and jewelry or wear flashy outfits during competition. Off the track, I like makeup and nail polish and brightly colored clothes as much as any woman. When I’m competing, I’m engaged in a battle. And when you’re in a battle, things sometimes get untidy.”

Yet, unlike females of other races, the clear majority of Black females begin processing/straightening their hair as children and continue doing so up until death. This wide scale, systematic, blind obedience is not duplicated with females of any other race.

Questions:

1. Is it really that difficult to care for Black hair?

2. Does Black hair need to be tamed, whipped into shape, slapped to attention in blind homage to standards of beauty established by the great White father?

3. Since White European colonialism also devastated indigenous native American cultures in both south and north America, do the majority of Hispanic and Native American women practice a similar predilection to mimic White standards of beauty? Answer: No, they don't. Do the clear majority of Native American women on tribal reservations (yes, they still exist) bleach their hair blonde? Answer: No, they don't.

4. How come after so many years fighting for the right to be free and Black, how come despite fighting for the right to look Black during the heyday of the 1960s civil rights movement, how come after fighting for the right to be proud wearing our hair naturally, how come Coretta Scott King continued to processes her hair until her death? How come?

It’s Not Our [Black] Hair, It’s Their [White] Hair. They Own It!

Next time you hear the hype about Black owned businesses, think about the sell-out of Soft Sheen. Perhaps, more significant than the sell-out of Motown and BET, products from Soft Sheen and other Black hair care vendors played a major role in packaging an acceptable “White look” for Motown recording artists (processed hair et al). Frankly, White owned L’Oreal and Revlon entered the Black hair care industry because it made sense:

1. More so than any other ethnic group in U.S., the clear majority of Black females, from children through senior citizens, have their hair “done” or processed on average every three (3) to four (4) weeks - throughout their entire life span. It’s a built-in, captive audience. Just add up the dollars signs!!!

2. For the most part, there’s no competition. After establishing market dominance (via promotional efforts essentially confined to a very limited network of Black print and broadcast venues), there are no “big players” that are Black-owned-and-operated who can muscle in and challenge White owned cosmetic companies and White owned trade publications like Sophisticate’s BLACK HAIR Styles and Care Guide Magazine.

3. The attempt by Pro-Line and other Black hair care vendors to make a bigger “revenue generating” foot print by marketing their products internationally is, ironically “colonial” and, unfortunately, to be successful L’Oreal and Revlon have deeper financial pockets and the shrewd and savvy business acumen not demonstrated by Black hair care vendors. Put another way, White companies don’t have any problem making money on the ethnicity of Black women and owning Black oriented companies that sell Black hair care products [hum, ethnicity + owning = slavery?]. You can easily find Soft Sheen’s advertisements throughout the world, like in the French magazine, “Miss Ebéne” [Translation: Miss Ebony]. Conversely, while Motown sold its artists under the banner “The Sound of Young America,” Black companies have not targeted the manufacture and sale of hair care products to and for White people. Why not? History continues to repeat itself.

After the big three (Soft Sheen, Johnson Products and Pro-Line) Black owned and operated cosmetic companies sold-out to White owned companies, the crumbs are left to the following much smaller Black owned companies: Bronner Bros., Luster Products, JM Products, Summit, Vitale and Dudley Products.

It’s Not Our [Black] Hair, It’s Their [White] Hair. They Own It!

QUESTION: Based on past practices, is it possible for a Black woman to wear her hair naturally in a film and still receive an Academy Award®?

Remember, the Academy Award is NOT a Black event, it’s an event entirely controlled by White people and it reflects standards of beauty established by their ruling class. Now, think about the Black women who’ve been nominated and who’ve received awards, could they have worn their hair naturally and still received an Academy Award®?

ANSWER: No, because both the actresses and the menial characters they portrayed are bound to standards of beauty established by the ruling class, and the ruling class has established that a Black female factory worker, Black female singers, Black waitresses, and Black female slaves better not have nappy hair.

Are Black Men Free From Guilt?

Now, what about Black men? Are they blameless? Well, not completely. True, Black men have demonstrated a similar practice of straightening their hair. It was rare to find a Black male performer without his hair “conked” (i.e., chemically processed) from the 1920s through the early 1960s. Doo Wop and “doo rag” were truly inseparable in the 1940s and 1950s. However, Black men eventually evolved out of their pre-1960s through mid-1980s hair-straightening, or grease & brush, or gerri-curl-wearing greasiness. In the 1980s, Basketball player A.C. Green, formerly of the L.A. Lakers, appeared to be the last hold-out wearing a gerri-curl in professional sports.

Of course, who can forget the classic scene in the 1988 film “Coming to America,” when a big wet, slimy, greasy spot was left on the sofa by the character, Darryl Jenks, played by actor Eriq LaSalle. White people in the theatre audience where I saw the film said very little, but Black people in the audience immediately responded by yelling a big Sunday-go-meeting “YUCK,” because they knew the blatant truthfulness of the scene as “witnessed” themselves on several occasions.

The following events also occurred shortly before, concurrent, or shortly after the December 1967 cover of Ebony Magazine.


December 1967 was less than two years after the assassination (February 21, 1965) of Malcolm X,

four months before the assassination (April 4, 1968) of Martin Luther King, Jr.,

six months before the assassination (June 6, 1968) of Robert F. Kennedy,

six months after the U.S. Supreme Court's "Loving Decision" (June 12, 1967) that finally made it legal for people of different races to marry in ALL 50 states,

nine months (September 1968) before Diahann Carroll (wearing straight/processed hair in a stereotypical role as single Black mother) became the first Black woman cast in a leading role in her own comedy series;

ten months (October 1968) before Tommie Smith and John Carlos raised their gloved fists to protest U.S. racial policies at the 1968 Olympics;

eighteen months (June 1969) before Jane Hoffman became the first (Black) woman of color to appear on the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine; and

two years and five months (May 1970) before the first issue of Essence magazine.

With this history in mind, at the height of the civil rights movement, THIS (natural hair) was the Black male image! Here, take a look at an interesting historical fact directly from the cover of the December 1967 issue of Ebony Magazine that recognized “Natural Hair” as “The New Symbol of Race Pride!” Notably, no women were featured - intentionally! As stated in the article, the (civil rights) phenomenon that caught on with thousands of Black men was not duplicated by Black women who have, “...not been free to doubt the pervasiveness of the blond-haired, blue-eyed White woman as a sex symbol.”

In fact, throughout much of the 1990s the majority of Black males have embraced TWAs (teeny-winny-afros), or cabadis, or baldness. Notably, unlike men of White, Asian, Hispanic other ethnic groups, the clear majority of Black men do not practice whipping or whirling hair from one side to the other side of their head to cover their baldness. It’s just not natural and it doesn’t work! So, with so many Black men wearing their hair naturally in the late 1960s, even James Brown realized the significance of an unadulterated Black image when, in March 1969, he wisely elected to wear his hair naturally [look at the album cover] when he released “Say It Loud I’m Black And I’m Proud!” Come on, do you realize how stupid, how ridiculous, how much of a two-faced, blatant contradiction James Brown would have appeared IF he had released this landmark song with his hair processed?

Yet, for whatever reasons, today, Michael Jackson, Billy Dee Williams, Rev. Al Sharpton, James Brown and other Black men continue to process their hair, and that’s okay, because the “standards of beauty” for Black male hair evolved to standards defined by Black men. Unlike Black women, the clear majority of Black men do not systematically and blindly change their image - their hair - in preference and subjugation to another culture.

However, where Black men have “dropped the ball” has less to do with their “collective image” and more to do with what they haven’t done as individuals to acquire, sustain and promote their own self-esteem. It’s important for Black men to be proud of being Black, but being a proud man is more important. The following dialogue is between a Black son and a Black father from the 1967 film, “Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner?” It was etched in my brain immediately after hearing it.

"Dad, I love you. I've always loved you. But you think of yourself as a colored man. I think of myself as a man!"

The drama presented by this very daring and powerful film is that a “man,” John Prentice, who happened to be Black, wanted to marry a “woman” who just happened to be White, which created enormous despair and conflict for his old fashioned [Translation: Negro] father. Bottom line, without regard to the on-going controversy regarding mixed marriages, “Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner?” is ultimately about individual freedoms and the right to make choices that are not in preference and subjugation to anyone else or another culture.

Notably, the film truly has a “rights of passage” feel and mirrors the onslaught of the changing times as characterized by John Prentice (Poitier) who wore his hair naturally versus his parents, legendary Black character actors Academy Award® nominee Beah Richards and Roy Glenn Sr., who wore their hair straightened/processed for their roles. If Poitier’s hair had been processed, his character would not have been perceived as a “man” genuinely in love with a “woman” but as a wanna-be, an Uncle Tom, and the film would have fallen flat on its face. In order for Poiter’s character to be perceived as a “Black man” and a “free” man he had to wear his hair naturally.

The subtlety of this film is remarkable as it discretely but powerfully places “freedom of choice” in direct conflict with “preferences and subjugation to another culture” and, as we transitioned to an enlightened generation with burgeoning civil rights, the film guides us to respect the values of previous generations and to be careful about placing guilt. A cultural evolution was beginning and, yes, you could see it in the hair styles of Black men and women.

Why do White people constantly and systematically steal or bury Black History and Black pride?



Although the legendary White British-American actress Elizabeth Taylor portrayed her in the 1963 blockbuster film, "Cleopatra," in fact, the actual Cleopatra was Black, not White. The "Whitewashing" of American history has long been a widely accepted practice in the U.S. film industry. Likewise, the real "Lone Ranger," was a Black man named Bass Reeves. He was a lawman who hunted criminals, who actually rode a white horse, who gave out silver coins as his trademark, and he was accompanied by a Native American. Together Reeves and his Native American companion apprehended nearly 3,000 criminals and this fact made them a legendary duo. There Can Only Be One Image!

Historically, and today, the image and impact of Black people in White controlled filmed and televised entertainment is best profiled in classic dialogue from the 1986 film “Highlander,” “There can only be one!” And only one. When reflecting on his extraordinary career, Sidney Poitier has openly acknowledged that during the heyday of his career, from the mid 1950s to the early 1970s, he had no competition and held undisputed rein and selection of any acting role that might feature a Black male in a “leading” role. This monopoly had less to do with Poitier and everything to do with what White controlled Hollywood would allow. Even before Poiter, legendary singer and actor Paul Robeson was in similar situation but he became at odds with both the White controlled entertainment industry and White controlled media and, after pursuing interests in Europe, he finished his career without the media fanfare previously bestowed upon him by America’s White controlled media.

With the Black film industry gone, and having finally opened the door to allow Blacks greater participation both in front of and behind the camera, the White [male controlled] film industry found itself in a precarious situation of not being able to put the genie back into the bottle. The passage of Title VII and related laws made it illegal to discriminate on the basis of age, race, sex, religion, creed and national origin, and a shift in cultural politics made blatant discrimination taboo.

Blacks, other minorities and women wanted a bigger piece of the Hollywood pie. However, as far as White-owned and controlled Hollywood is concerned, Black films supposedly don’t play well (make enough money) internationally, and with fifty-(50) to sixty-(60) percent of total box office receipts coming from outside of the United States its lousy business to risk millions of dollars with Black people in lead roles. So, since nearly 50% to 60% of total film revenue comes for foreign markets, featuring Black people in leading roles for "major" theatrically released films does not occur unless:


(a) the film prominently features major White stars in co-starring "buddy" roles ("Men in Black" with Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith; "Rush Hour" with Jackie Chan (to capture the Asian markets) and Chris Tucker; "48 Hours" with Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy; "Silver Streak" with Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor; and so on and so on; or

(b) it's a "period" film that showcases how White people successfully enslaved and continue to oppress and discriminate against Black people as with the recent slate of blatantly pretentious "never-forget-they-were-slaves-flims" like Steven Spielberg's 2012 "Lincoln," and Quentin Tarantino's 2012 "Django Unchained," and Steve McQueen's 2013 "12 Years A Slave."

George Lucas (creator of the "Star Wars" film franchise) spent 23 years trying to get "Hollywood" to finance and produce "Red Tails," finally released in 2012, a World War II movie about the legendary Tuskegee Airmen, but unfortunately, it featured an all-Black cast. "Hollywood" refused to finance the film, so Lucas used his own money ($58 million) to finance the film.

Given the lack of support from the "Hollywood" industrial complex (writing, production, distribution, exhibition, and promotion) "Red Tails" lost money. Keep in mind, the rest of the world is keenly aware the United States openly engaged in genocide, slavery, oppression, discrimination, and the continuing skewed incarceration of Black people; plus, propaganda from the U.S. continues to fuel the flame that Black people have no value in the U.S. or anywhere else in the world. Black people are primarily marketed as clowns, buffoons, or minstrels, and that's how "Hollywood" markets "those people" to the world. What, you don't agree? Note the facts presented in the film review of "Get On Up," a biography of legendary singer-performer James Brown.

QUESTION: So, is “Blackness,” nothing more than a trend?

ANSWER: Just like Coretta Scott King and Nancy Wilson, former First Lady Michelle Obama has "processed" her hair throughout her entire life in compliance with "White standards of beauty." Therefore, actually looking "Black" has always been subordinate to looking White, which establishes "Blackness" as nothing more than a trend.

How often does a Black woman wash her hair?

Daily washing of processed/straightened hair is possible but not advisable. The general thinking is that daily washing removes body from the hair shaft making hair lifeless and flat. So, for most Black women daily personal hygiene means washing the face, hands, legs, arms, back, toes, feet, torso, derriere, sexually active areas, yep, everything except their hair on the top of their head. At risk for being slapped for attempting to run our fingers through what appears to be lovely, healthy hair, but given the build-up of grease and dirt, the bigger question is, why would any man want to run his hands through it? The paradox of freedom empowers Black people to embrace their FREEDUMB. Free, yeah, but dumb!

How are "some" Black women killing the Black Race with their hair?

1. Black women are validating standards of “White” beauty. Sistas’ are you concerned about the Black man and White woman scenario? Common sense should tell you this: Why should an “emancipated” Black man waste his time with an “imitation” White woman when he can get a real one? A Black man doesn’t have to be O.J., or Montell Williams, or Harry Belafonté, or Sidney Poitier, or Bill Russell, or even me to get a White woman. You need to wake up and get real!

The counter measure: Be and look like what no other women on the planet can - a Black woman - with your own truly unique standards of beauty. Real men don’t want fake women and vice versa. Real men recognize the intelligence and beauty in women without regard to their ethnicity. Real women recognize the same qualities in men.

 

2. Black women are denying their own self-worth. As marketed throughout the world, the image generally presented as the pinnacle, the highest standard of female beauty is? An Asian woman? No. A Native American woman? No. A Black woman? Again, get real. The White woman (whether blonde or brunette, with typically long flowing, silky hair) is the standard by which all beauty is defined. Jet Magazine continues to publish its rather amateurish weekly “Beauty of the Week” photo feature, but where’s the serious attempt to produce a comparably high quality Black version of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue? Where’s the calendar? Its been done before, was it profitable? Naw, never mind. After all, you know how Black people are about buying stuff?

The counter measure: Perhaps, The Artist (Prince) said it best, “There’s nothing minor about you!”

 

3. Black women mimic White women. Look at Oprah. She’s done quite well for herself.

The counter measure: A major viewer letter-writing-campaign to encourage Oprah to, from time to time, wear her hair naturally. Ha! She’d never do it!

 

4. Black women raise Black boys to value White standards of beauty. Think for a moment of all the millions of Black boys who decade after decade see their sisters, mothers, grandmothers, and girlfriends having their hair straightened. Exactly what message are you sending to them? It’s not “Black is beautiful.”

The counter measure: Be a positive role model for self esteem. Be a role model for yourself, your family and for your uniqueness as a Black woman!

 

So, where are Black women who at least appear to be aware and comfortable with their own self worth, their own image? Where’s the Black Renaissance Woman (BRW), a Black woman with the savvy to equally embrace the “White” world and, proudly, her own ethnicity? Of course, these women exist, but this is the exception and not the norm. In 1986, Alexander O’Neal recorded a song that can apply to any woman but, given the overwhelming dominance of White standards of beauty, consider the correlation of this song to Black women.

The 1960s civil rights movement launched the very first time in U.S. history where Black people publicly expressed pride in their race. I love being Black
I love being called Black
I love being an American
I love being a Black American
But as a Black man in this country I think it’s a shame
That every few years we get a change of name

Since those first ships arrived here from Africa that came across the sea
There were already Black men in this country who were free

And as for those that came over here
On those terrible boats,
They were called Nigger and Slave
And told what to do and how to behave

And then master started trippin’
Doing his midnight tippin’
Down to the slave shacks
Where he forced he and Great-Great Grandma to be together
And if Great-Great Grandpa protested
He got tarred and feathered

And at the same time the Black men in the country who were free
Were mating with the tribes like the Apache and the Cherokee

And as a result of all that, we’re a parade of every shade
And at this late day and age you can be sure
There ain’t too many of us in this country whose bloodline is pure

But according to a geological- geographical-genealogy study

The Black African people were the first on the scene

So for what it’s worth
The Black African people were the first on Earth
And through migration our characteristics started to change, and rearrange
To adapt to whatever climate we migrated to

And that’s how I became me and you became you

That everybody in America is an African American

And ’cause my Great-Great Granddaddy on my Daddy’s side did
Don’t mean I want to go back

Now I have nothing against Africa
It’s where some of the most beautiful places and people in the world are found
But I’ve been blessed to go a lot of places in this world
And if you ask me where I choose to live I pick America, hands down

Now by and by, we were called Negro
And after while that name was banished.
Anyway, Negro is just how you say black in Spanish
Then we were called colored
But shit, everybody’s one color or another
And I think it’s a shame that we hold that against each other

And it seems like we reverted back to a time when being called Black was an insult
Even if it was another Black man who said it a fight would result
Because we’ve been so brainwashed that Black was wrong
Till even the yellow niggas and black niggas couldn’t get along

But then came the 1960s
When we struggled and died to be called equal and Black
And we walked with pride with our heads held high and our shoulders pushed back
And Black was beautiful

But I guess that wasn’t good enough
'Cause now here they come with some other stuff

Who comes up with this shit anyway

Was it one or a group of niggas just sittin' around one day
Feeling a little insecure again about being called Black
And decided that African-American sounded a little more exotic
Well, I think you were being a little more neurotic

It’s that same mentality that got Amos and Andy put off the air
'Cause they were embarrassed about the way the character’s spoke
And as a result of that action
A lot of wonderful Black actors ended up broke
When we were just laughing and have fun about ourselves

So I say, “FUCK YOU!" if you can’t take a joke
You didn’t see the Beverly Hillbilly’s being protested by white folk
And if you think that 'cause you think that Being called African-American sets all Black people’s mind at ease
Since we affectionately call each other Nigga
I affectionately say to you, “NIGGA, PLEASE"

How come I didn’t get the chance to vote on who I’d like to be?
Who gave you the right to make that decision for me?
I ain’t under your rule or in your dominion And I am entitled to my own opinion

Now there are some African-Americans here But they recently moved here from places like Kenya, Ethiopia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Zaire
But not a brother who’s family has lived in this country for generations
Occupying space in all the locations
New York, Miami, L.A., Detroit, Chicago
Even if he’s wearing a dashiki and sporting an afro

And if you go to Africa in search of your race You’ll find out quick you’re not an African- American
You’re just a Black American in Africa taking up space

Why you keep trying to attach yourself to a continent
Where even if you got the chance to go
and you went
Most people there, wouldn't even claim you as one of them
As a pure bread daughter or son of them?

Your heritage is right here now
No matter what you call yourself or what you say
And a lot of people died to make it that way

And if you think America is a leader on inequality and suffering and grieving
How come there so many people coming and so few leaving?

So rather than all this find fault with America shit you're promoting
If you want to change something, use your privilege
Get to the polls and commence to voting

All the wonderful Black Americans who served in the armed forces and give their lives in all the wars
They didn't do that for Timbuktu or Cape Town or Kenya
They died for Mississippi and Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas and Virginia
Need I continue?

And if you don't acknowledge that, if you don't claim that
Then you're playing right into the hand of the White supremacists and the ku klux klan
Who claim that they own this land

We went through the Civil Rights Movement
And Dr. Martin Luther King gave his life so that you could have equal status
We withstood the dogs, the fire hoses, the beatings, the bombings, the burnings, the maiming's, the murders
Aand everything else they threw at us

God knows we’ve earned the right to be called American-Americans and to be free at last
And rather than you moving forward progress
You're dwelling in the past

We’ve struggled too long, we’ve come too far
Instead of focusing on who we were
Let’s be proud of who we are

We are the only people whose name is always a trend
When is this shit gonna end?
Look at all the different colors of our skin
Black is not our color, it’s our core
It’s what we been living and fighting and dying for

But if you choose to be called African-American and that’s your preference

But I know on this issue I don’t stand alone on my own

Unfortunately, White owned and controlled print and broadcast media typically ridiculed and lambasted all public displays of Black pride; and law enforcement, especially the FBI, targeted such displays as civil unrest, deviate behavior, and sources of criminal activity, which included using entrapment, witness tampering, and state-sanctioned assassinations to eliminate any perceived civil unrest created or sustained by Black pride. In summary, White pride occurs seamlessly, and clandestinely as practiced by the KKK and neo-Nazi groups. Within the dominate "White" owned and controlled culture there's very little risk of job loss, or injury, or death from being White and proud. The overall social and economic status of Black people has not changed during 250 years of slavery, 90 years of Jim Crow, 60 years of separate but equal, 35 years of state-sanctioned redlining.

Racism is perpetual in the United States, which is blatantly evident as repeatedly documented in photos, videos, film, and "live" television and internet streaming during the past fifty-(50) years. So, as accurately conveyed by Roland Martin and as validated by the life experience of Eugene Bullard in the videos below, the plight of being Black and Proud, seeking fairness and justice, has always been poorly received or ignored by the overwhelming majority of White people.

Most importantly, Black people publicly protested against racism, oppression, and injustice throughout slavery, Jim Crow, separate but equal, and state-sanctioned redlining; Colin Kaepernick's refusal to stand for the national anthem was nothing new, and was preceded by:

This highly accomplished athlete, academician, bass baritone concert artist, and stage and film actor was blacklisted for his political activism and support of civil rights; he was prohibited from working, denied a passport by the U.S. State Department, and his income, consequently, plummeted.

Armstrong rarely took a stand for civil rights, but even he took a well-publicized stand for Black civil rights in the Little Rock crisis; he publicly criticized President Eisenhower for being "two-faced" and "gutless" and for not acting forcefully enough on civil rights.

"Strange Fruit" is her legendary song about the public lynching of Black people throughout the U.S. between 1877 to 1950.

Despite being the #1 ranked womens tennis player in the world in 1957, and being the first woman to win both Wimbledon and the US Open two consecutive years (1957 and 1958), and named Female Athlete of the Year by the Associated Press in both years, Gibson wrote, "When I looked around me, I saw that white tennis players, some of whom I had thrashed on the court, were picking up offers and invitations. Suddenly it dawned on me that my triumphs had not destroyed the racial barriers once and for all, as I had—perhaps naively—hoped. Or if I did destroy them, they had been erected behind me again."

In response to their raised fists in protest to racism in the United States, Smith and Carlos were immediately suspended from the U.S. Olympic team by IOC president Avery Brundage, ostracized by print and broadcast media, banned from subsequent track meets, suffered major financial loss, and received thousands of death threats.


Plus, let not overlook the "Black 14," (#6 ranked) Wyoming football players, with a 10-1 record in 1967, who sought to wear black armbands in protest when they faced BYU, a school operated by the LDS Church, which prohibited Black people from most ecclesiastical positions at the time. In response, Wyoming coach Lloyd Easton kicked them all off the team.

1995-96 NBA Season

Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf

"You can't be for God and for oppression.

Abdul-Rauf holds the third-(3rd) highest free-throw shooting record in NBA history at .9563%.
   
Abdul-Rauf was selected with the third pick in the 1990 NBA draft by the Denver Nuggets.
   
Abdul-Rauf lead the league in free throw percentage in the 1993–94 and 1995–96 seasons.

After converting to Islam in 1991, Abdul-Rauf stopped standing for the national anthem during the 1995-96 NBA season. For nearly 60 games, he would either stretch during the anthem or stay inside the locker room. Abdul-Rauf did not make any public statement about his action, and consequently, none of his fellow teammates, team management, or fans were aware of his reasons for not standing during the national anthem. Ultimately, a reporter asked him about this subject, and with total honesty, Abdul-Rauf responded, "You can't be for God and for oppression. It's clear in the Quran, Islam is the only way. I don't criticize those who stand, so don't criticize me for sitting."

In response to Abdul-Rauf's public statement the NBA suspended Abdul-Raul for one game for failure to comply with NBA rules that require all players to stand during the playing of the national anthem. Soon thereafter, the NBA and Abdul-Rauf came to an agreement that instead of sitting for the anthem, he would stand with his teammates but close his eyes and look downward silently citing Islamic prayer.

Quickly thereafter, Abdul-Rauf received death threats, his home was burned to the ground, he was traded the very next year to the Sacramento Kings in 1996, his playing time was drastically dimished, and he went unsigned after the 1998 season, which ended his NBA career.

September 2016

Colin Kaepernick (center below) said,
"I am not going to stand up to show pride
in a flag for a country that oppresses
Black people and people of color.

In response to Kaepernick's refusal to stand for the National Anthem, as of August 17, 2017 he has not be re-signed to play with any NFL team.

At the University of Missouri, in September 2015, Peyton Head, a senior and the president of Missouri Students Association, said he was called racial slurs as he walked toward campus. Later, on October 5, 2015 members of the Legion of Black Collegians were called "Nigger" while rehearsing for homecoming festivities. Then, on October 24, 2015 a swastika was drawn with human feces specifically targeting Black students at a university residence hall. President Tim Wolfe and Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin ignored protests from Black and other students. However, when the predominately Black "money making" U of M football team conveyed they would boycott the rest of the U of M football season, which had an immediate loss of over $2,000,000 per game to the university, the President Tim Wolfe and Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin "decided" to resign.

As reported by Shaun R. Harper in the 2006 study, "Black Male Students at Public Flagship Universities in the U.S. - Status, Trends, and Implications for Policy and Practice," the Schott Foundation for Public Education notes that on average, 58 percent of Black male high school students do not graduate in four years. Reportedly, New York, South Dakota, and Wisconsin graduated less than one-third of their black male high school students on schedule in 2002. In ten other states—Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska, New Mexico, Ohio, and South Carolina—fewer than 58 percent of black male students graduated from high school with peers in their cohort.

Yes, like all humans, White people have to compete for survival, success, power, and status, but after engineeering and executing the genocide and on-going oppression of people of color there's very little viable competition from minorities; and legislative attempts to create "fairness and justice for all" have consistently been "passive" and consistently lack any real enforcement because:

1. White people make the rules (laws) and all exceptions to the rules, it's their country, they own it, and they can unilaterally "pick and choose" if and when they'll adhere to whatever rules, laws, and contracts they establish; and

2. In the wake of blatantly passive and failed attempts to create "fairness and justice for all," the mantra for the overwhelming majority of White people is, "The past is the past; I've got mine, so you get yours!"

Again, there's absolutely nothing wrong with being proud of who you are. So, let's not hate White people for being prideful, and keep in mind, not all White people are racist, including President Donald Trump.

In summary, it’s the well-documented history and on-going practice of White people in the U.S. to openly or clandestinely, legally or illegally, intentionally or unintentionally to discriminate against Black people and other people of color.  Most importantly, the overall plight of Black people has NEVER improved to a point of economic, social, or educational parity with White people under any President of the U.S.  So, why expect anything different from President Donald Trump?  The “business as usual” practice of White privilege only means “more excuses and more promises” and the mediocrity of the status quo.

 

QUESTION: Isn't it blatant hypocrisy to defend the existence of statues and other commemorative symbols of the eight-(8) U.S. Presidents who actively owned slaves [George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, Andrew Jackson, John Tyler, James K. Polk, and Zachary Taylor], but to condemn statues of confederate leaders who actively engaged in the exact same practice? Well? Do you really think the slaves who were bought and sold, had their families divided, beaten, whipped, raped, castrated, burned, and murdered by the eight-(8) slave-owning U.S. Presidents would know the difference? Well?? Do you???

By the way, at President Trump's news conference he was correct when he said "there are good and bad people on both sides," because most of the people on both sides of the rioting in Charlottesville pray, go to church or temple or synagogue, and were Christian, Jewish, or Muslim, believe in God, and support various charities and fundraising activities. Unfortunately, the hypocrisy of all organized religions is the on-going failure to get followers to actually practice the egalitarian principles that exist as a cornerstone of their religious dogma, which is not reported by the media, and constantly ignored in motion pictures, as in "Blackkklansman (2018)." In this regard, there's a wealth of religious hypocrisy available to Spike Lee and others who condemn President Trump in, "The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews: Volume 1 and 2," published by the Nation of Islam.

 

QUESTION: Given that the EEO-1s for all 42 members of President Trump's Business Advisory Council, including the 15 business leaders who reigned, represents the continued existence of the "Glass Ceiling" and the continued failure of these senior level company executives to hire and promote qualified women and minorities, isn't it blatant hypocrisy for these business leaders to assail President Donald Trump?

However, people of color will "never get theirs," because White privilege prevents or circumvents the equitable access to and distribution of power, wealth, and control. Albert Einstein said it so clearly, “Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

 

WHITE PRIVILEGE

The belief, philosophy, or practice that establishes and empowers White people with exclusive access, power, control, and ownership over any person, place, or thing. Plus, without regard to the social status, wealth, or affluence held by people of color, "White Privilege" even provides poor or poverty stricken White people with hierarchy over all people of color.

So, how exactly is White Privilege (systemic racism) used to manage diversity and inclusion? Here's how:

Between 110,000 and 120,000 people of Japanese ancestry were forcibly relocated and incarcerated during World War II. Sixty-two percent of the internees were United States citizens. President Roosevelt ordered the Incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II, shortly after Imperial Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor.


In 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed the Civil Liberties Act, which apologized for the internment on behalf of the U.S. government paid $20,000 to each individual camp survivor. The legislation admitted that government actions were based on "race prejudice, war hysteria, and a failure of political leadership." The U.S. government eventually disbursed more than $1.6 billion in reparations to 82,219 Japanese Americans who had been interned and their heirs.

George Hosato Takei (born April 20, 1937) is an American actor, director, author, and activist. Takei is most widely known for his role as Hikaru Sulu, helmsman of the USS Enterprise in the television series Star Trek. He also portrayed the character in six Star Trek feature films and in an episode of Star Trek: Voyager.

In 1942, the Takei family was forced to live in the converted horse stables of Santa Anita Park before being sent to the Rohwer War Relocation Center for internment in Rohwer, Arkansas. The family was later transferred to the Tule Lake War Relocation Center in California. He and his family returned to Los Angeles at the end of World War II.

Again, it’s the well-documented history and on-going practice of White people in the U.S. to openly or clandestinely, legally or illegally, intentionally or unintentionally to discriminate against Black people and other people of color.  Most importantly, the overall plight of Black people has NEVER improved to a point of economic, social, or educational parity with White people under any President of the U.S.  So, why expect anything different from President Donald Trump?  The “business as usual” practice of White privilege only means “more excuses and more promises” and the mediocrity of the status quo.

People of color did NOT conceive, engineer, and execute the above acts of "inhumanity" to themselves, because people of color were not and have never held the power, control, or "privilege" to do so. Clearly, only White people held and continue to hold exclusive "privilege" to unilaterally determine the fate of people of color. Some people believe "White Privilege" does not exist, and that most Black people, Native Americans, Latinos, and Asians have as much opportunity, in the past or now, to be as successful as most White people. Okay, if you believe this, here's a very simple . . .

QUESTION 1: Given that race-based genocide, oppression, and discrimination against all people of color began prior to the inception of the United States of America on July 4, 1776 and continued uninterrupted thereafter, on what specific year and date did White people relinquish their ill-gotten wealth, power, and control to enable people of color with "fair and just" access to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? When?

QUESTION 2: Did White people provide Black people, and other people of color, with equal access to education, employment, housing, health care, and the political process at the end of the Civil War with passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1866, or the Civil Rights (Ku Klux Klan) Act of 1871, or the Civil Rights Act of 1875?

ANSWER: No, because the U.S. Declaration of Independence only established "White men" as equals. By law, the overwhelming majority of Black people, and other people of color, were prohibited from owning property, prohibited from employment due to collective bargaining agreements with White controlled labor unions, prohibited from attending "better" schools due to government sanctioned segregation, prohibited from the legislative process (the number of Black state and federal legislators in the South peaked in 1872 at about 320 - a level never surpassed even by 1992), and yes, as pictured below, Black people without arraignment or trial were still being lynched by White people without fear of arrest or conviction.

More than 20 race riots occurred in major industrial cities of the U.S. during the Red Summer of 1919. In Omaha, White people killed Will Brown in downtown Omaha at the Douglas County Courthouse, which is still being used today! Consistent with the mandate of White privilege, of the 120 people indicted for involvement in the riot and Brown's murder, not one person was successfully prosecuted, and all White people were eventually released after serving no term of imprisonment. Lynching is NOT ancient U.S. history; on the contrary, it's been the ongoing practice of White people to lynch Black people before, during and after the Civil War, continuing even after WWII and beyond. In 1918, when Elton Mitchell of Earle, Arkansas, refused to work on a White-owned farm without pay, "prominent" White citizens of the city cut him into pieces with butcher knives and hung his remains from a tree.

In 1940, Jesse Thornton was lynched in Luverne, Alabama, for referring to a White police officer by his name without the title of "mister."

Research confirms many victims of terror lynchings were murdered without being accused of any crime; they were killed for minor social transgressions or for demanding basic rights and fair treatment. Racial terror lynching was and is a tool to enforce Jim Crow laws and racial segregation - a tactic for maintaining racial control by victimizing the entire Black community, notmerely punishment of an alleged perpetrator for a crime. These same controlling "tactics" are employed by police, the judiciary, and all aspects of law enforcement today!


QUESTION 3: Did White people provide Black people, and other people of color, with equal access to education, employment, housing, health care, and the will full access to the political process a hundred years later with passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964?

ANSWER: No, because the "cycle of discrimination" continues to mandate prevailing race-based educational, cultural and business practices, including Jim Crow Laws, Mass Incarceration, the Glass Ceiling, and other barriers which continue to prohibit Black people, and other people of color, and women, from "fair and just" access to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

As validated by past and current data, and in the absence of major changes to both public and private education, K-12 and higher education, Black and Latino students will never equal the educational performance of White students; plus, Black and Latino students will continue to reflect a disproportionate number of students who will be retained, fail to promote, quit, or be permanently suspended from all aspects of education. Why? Both public and private education are intentionally designed for people of color to fail.

Home ownership for the majority of Black people is a joke. Even after holding constant all variables, including credit history, White men were denied credit 26% of the time compared with 68% of Black men and 52% of Black women. As documented "The Story of the Contract Buyers League," discrimination against Black people and other minorities is not just history but it remains the practice of White people to openly discriminate against Black people and other minorities in home ownership. As documented in, “The Persistence of Segregation in the Metropolis: New Findings from the 2010 Census” prepared for Project US2010 (Brown University and Florida State University):

The average White person in metropolitan American lives in a neighborhood that is 75% white. Despite a substantial shift of minorities from cities to suburbs, minorities have often not gained access to largely white neighborhoods. For example a typical Black person lives in a neighborhood that is only 35% white (not much different from 1940) and as much as 45% black. Diversity is experienced very differently in the daily lives of Whites, Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians.

In 367 metropolitan areas across the U.S., the typical White person lives in a neighborhood that is 75% White, 8% Black, 11% Hispanic, and 5% Asian. This represents a notable change since 1980, when the average Whites’ neighborhood was 88% white, but it is very different from the makeup of the metropolis as a whole.

The experience of minorities is very different. For example, the typical Black lives in a neighborhood that is 45% Black, 35% White, 15% Hispanic, and 4% Asian. The typical Hispanic lives in a neighborhood that is 46% Hispanic, 35% White, 11% Black and 7% Asian. The typical Asian lives in a neighborhood that is 22% Asian, 49% White, 9% Black, and 19% Hispanic.


The message here, which is also validated in the book, "Searching for Whitopia: An Improbable Journey to the Heart of White America (2009, Rich Benjamin)" is very simple; unlike other "people" White people intentionally chose to live in neighborhoods with decidedly low minority representation, and the majority of White people will leave, typically called "White Flight," rather than interact with minorities. For the most part, White people are not as likely to "accept" minorities living in their neighborhoods; conversely, minorities are more likely to "accept" White people living in their neighborhoods.

QUESTION 4: Except for a few tokens, the overall social and economic status (i.e., equal access to education, employment, housing, health care, and the political process) for the overwhelming majority of Black people, and other peole of color, did not change during the 1870s, 1880s, 1890s, 1900s, 1910s, 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and the 2010s - and it never will. Where's any evidence to the contrary?

ANSWER: There isn't any.

As validated, yet again, in the June 2014 issue of “The Atlantic” magazine, except for a few tokens, the overall social and economic status
(i.e., equal access to education, employment, housing, health care, and the political process) for the overwhelming majority of Black people, and other peole of color, did not change during the 1870s, 1880s, 1890s, 1900s, 1910s, 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and the 2010s. There's no evidence to the contrary.

 

As researched and validated by the Federal Reserve (below, click graph for additional detail), and published by the Washington Post in the article, "The Growing Black-White Wage Gap is Unexplained and Scary," in 2017, even when Black men in America can get a job, they earn substantially less than White men with the same skills, same education, and same qualifications. Point of fact, on the contrary, this is not scary, it's consistent with racism and discrimination engineered against Black people (and other people of color) and enforced by White people during and after slavery, and consistent with the same earnings gap that was in place in Jim Crow America in the 1950s. Bottom line: Nothing changes. The social and economic plight of Black people remains unchanged.

QUESTION 5: As validated with the June 2014 issue of “The Atlantic” magazine, after 250 years of slavery, 90 years of Jim Crow, 60 years of separate but equal, and 35 years of state-sanctioned redlining, did White people ever provide Black people, and other people of color, with equal access to education, employment, housing, health care, and the political process?

The Doctrine of Discovery was promulgated by European monarchies in order to arrogantly legitimize the ethnocentric colonization of lands outside of Europe. Between the mid-fifteenth century and the mid-twentieth century, this idea allowed European entities, such as the Hudson Bay Company, to seize lands inhabited by indigenous peoples under the guise of discovery. In 1494, the Treaty of Todesillas declared that only non-Christian lands could be colonized under the Discovery Doctrine. Unfortunately, for well over a millennium, in their constant and neverending thirst for conquest and control of the entire planet, White people intentionally and forcefully brainwashed, oppressed, enslaved, and killed millions of non-minorities (people of color) to unilaterally establish their paradigm of White privilege and White supremacy. The aforementioned is problematic, because conquests linked to a radical belief in racial or ethnic superiority inevitably lead to war - civil wars, wars between sovereign nations, world wars. Utimately, in order to fulfill the universal tenets of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, oppressed people (the have nots) who greatly outnumber their oppressors (the haves) will resort to the mutually destructive resolutions of death, destruction, and war.

FACT: Consistent with the Doctrine of Discovery, after the American colonies declared independence from British rule on July 4, 1776, the British targeted Australia for subjugation and/or genocide of its indigenous Black/Aborigine population. Estimated to have been between 750,000 and 1,000,000 in 1788 [only 649,171 (2.8% of the total population) in 2016], under British rule the Black population declined for the next 150 years due to infectious disease from White settlers, and frontier conflicts. Plus, the policies of White Australia Only and the government policy of "assimilation" via the Aboriginal Protection Act of 1869 removed many Aboriginal children from their families to further decimate the indigenous population. Traditional ownership of land ("native title") was not recognised in law until 1992, when the High Court of Australia held in Mabo v Queensland (No 2) that the legal doctrine that Australia had been terra nullius ("land belonging to no one") did not apply to Australia at the time of British settlement.

Just like Black people in the United States, the indigenous Black/Aborigine Australians experience higher than average rates of imprisonment and unemployment, lower levels of education, and life expectancies for males and females that are, respectively, 11 and 17 years lower than those of non-indigenous Australians. Some remote Indigenous communities have been described as having "failed state"-like conditions. Result: As with the Black experience in the U.S., "Been there. Done that."

THE THUCYDIDES TRAP IN 2022

Many Europeans have long considered American decline an inevitability and have looked to prepare themselves for such an eventuality. Pushed by Germany and France, the EU has sought out trade and energy deals with rival global powers, including Russia and China. The idea was that as the U.S. disengaged from Europe, the EU would step up.

But then Russia invaded Ukraine, and everything changed. Suddenly, Europe’s grand strategy was in tatters, and American strength seemed to reassert itself. Europe discovered it had not become more independent from the U.S. but more dependent on it. In fact, Europe was dependent on everyone: Russia for its energy, China for its trade, America for its security.

In pursuing a slow, cautious disengagement from the U.S., Europe found itself in the worst of all worlds. And in a desperate bid to reverse out of the mess, it was forced to rush back into the arms of the very leviathan it fears might be not only slowly losing its power but in danger of suddenly imploding.

This, then, is the difficult situation of America’s protectorates today. Worried about the decline of the U.S., much of the American-led world has clung even more tightly to Washington than before. In Asia, the U.S. remains the only power capable of balancing against China’s bid for regional hegemony. In Europe, something similar is true with regard to Russia. To the continent’s eternal shame, as one senior British official told me, the apparently divided, dysfunctional, and declining power of the U.S. has still managed to send drastically more lethal aid to save a European democracy than any other NATO power. The Nazis viewed the downfall of the Roman Empire as being the result of the pollution of blood from racial intermixing, claiming that Italians were a hybrid of races, including Black African races.

On May 12, 1879, Judge Elmer S. Dundy ruled, via Chief Standing Bear vs. Crook, that "an Indian is a person" within the meaning of habeas corpus. He stated that the federal government had failed to show a basis under law for the Poncas' arrest and captivity.

FACT: The U.S. Government never considered Native Americans as "human beings" until May 12, 1879.

Free African people were kidnapped in Sierra Leone and illegally sold into slavery and shipped to Cuba; they escaped their shackles and took over the ship. They killed the captain and the cook; two other crew members escaped in a lifeboat.

In 1840, via United States v. The Amistad, a federal district court found that the transport of the kidnapped Africans across the Atlantic on the slave ship Tecora was in violation of laws and treaties against the international slave trade by Great Britain, Spain and the United States. The captives were ruled to have acted as free men when they fought to escape their illegal confinement. The court ruled the Africans were entitled to take whatever legal measures necessary to secure their freedom, including the use of force.

With regard to the scope of human potential, and without regard to race or sex, there was, there is, and there will always be someone faster, slower, taller, shorter, smarter, dumber, weaker, stronger, healthier, sicker, fatter, skinnier, more talented or less talented. These "differences" do not make us better or worse, but only different. Plus, if you're sexist, and you believe men are "better" than women, as constantly validated at the World Track and Field Championships and the Olympics, an "elite" woman is faster, stronger, and has more endurance than the average man; and when provided an opportunity, women are as likely to excel as well as men in academics, business, medicine and other intelluctual endeavors. Equally important, there are far too many variables that can directly or indirectly influence intelligence and physical ability, including environmental factors, health, education, genetics, culture, income, miscegenation, and even free radicals.

Unfortunately, the Confederate States of America, Adolf Hitler, Margaret Sanger, and all other racists failed to acknowledge the aforementioned fact. As with all living things of the same species, we have unique differences, and these differences do not define us as better or worse than another race or sex, but our differences empower us to realize our individual potential, and most importantly, our collective potential. This is such a simple concept, but racists refuse to acknowlege the oneness of humanity and the corresponding importance of embracing egalitarian principles. Instead, racists engage in flawed, emotion-based tit-for-tat comparisons that constantly ignore facts. "Systemic racism and systemic sexism" are perpetually used to intentionally limit the potential of people of color and women. Therefore, for those who foolishly embrace White supremacy consider the following fact-based challenges to the ridiculous, unproven concept of racial supremacy, and in particular, White Supremacy.

1. DENIAL - As thoroughly researched by White people (which means it must be true) and people of color, the oldest human civilizations were established by people of color in Africa, not Europe. People of color, Africans, are by all widely accepted standards of archaeology, anthropology, genetics, and linguistics the first human beings on the planet Earth, the first to create complex civilizations and all related science and technology incluing language, writing, mathematics, medicine, astronomy, religion, philosophy, and are, unequivocally, in a biological sense, to have progressed further in development than have the same physical structures in White people. Accordingly, since it remains the history and practice of White people to deny, hide, or intentionally overlook the inventions and achievements of people of color; consequently, it's incumbent for people of color to "toot their own horn." In response to books and web sites created by people of color to reveal and promote their intellectual achievements, many "Johnny-come-lately" mainstream or White-owned and controlled publishers and web sites jumped on- the-bandwagon, primarily to cash in. There are literally thousands and thousands of sources that validate the intellectual prowess of people of color. Here are just a few from Wikipedia:

For White people of the "ruling class" to label Black people as "intellectually inferior" after having intentionally excluded, banned, prohibited, and denied Black people (and other people of color) from access to equal education for hundreds and hundres of years does NOT make is so.

The robust historical achievements of Black people and other people of color preceded all White achievements, which has repeatedly been validated by White people. White people of the "ruling class" with low self-esteem and threatened by the intellectual and physical prowess of people of color, intentionally denied people of color access to their own history through colonialism, oppression, slavery, or genocide.

 

 

Throughout human history, people of all races, men and women, have consistently demonstrated the intellectual acuity to create phenomenal achievements in all sciences and related technologies.

Frederick McKinley Jones
(May 17, 1893 – February 21, 1961)


An African-American inventor, entrepreneur, winner of the National Medal of Technology, and inductee of the National Inventors Hall of Fame. His innovations in refrigeration brought great improvement to the long-haul transportation of perishable goods. Jones also cofounded Thermo King.

Ananda Mohan Chakrabarty
Born, April 4 April 1938 (age 79)

An Indian (Bengali)- American microbiologist, scientist, and researcher, most notable for his work in directed evolution and his role in developing a genetically engineered organism using plasmid transfer while working at GE, the patent for which led
to landmark Supreme Court case, Diamond v. Chakrabarty.

Buddhist Monk Baegun
(1298–1374, Buddhist name Gyeonghan)

Movable metal type was invented in Korea in the early thirteenth century, predating Gutenberg’s invention in Europe by two centuries. The first book to be printed with movable metal type is the Prescribed Ritual Texts of the Past and Present in 1234 during the Goryeo period. The earliest surviving book to be printed with movable metal type is the Jikji, dated to 1377. The Jikji was written by the Buddhist monk Baegun (1298–1374, Buddhist name Gyeonghan), who served as the chief priest of Anguk and Shingwang temples in Haeju, and was published in two volumes in Seongbulsan in 1372. Baegun died in Chwiam Temple in Yeoju in 1374.

Lori Arviso Alvord
(Born 1958)


A Native American surgeon and author, Dr. Lori Arviso Alvord is perhaps best known for being the first Diné (Navajo) woman to ever become board certified in surgery. Her autobiography, "The Scalpel and the Silver Bear," brought significant attention to her career as a surgeon and has sold over 50,000 copies. Dr. Alvord was also nominated to serve as the U.S. Surgeon General in 2013. Dr. Alvord uses new techniques that bring together Navajo healing techniques and modern Western Medicine.

"Frank" Duarte
Born c. 1954


Francisco Duarte, PhD is a Chilean-born laser physicist and author/editor of several well-known books on tunable lasers and quantum optics. He introduced the generalized multiple-prism dispersion theory, has discovered various multiple-prism grating oscillator laser configurations, and introduced polymer-nanoparticle gain media. These contributions have found applications in a variety of fields including:

* atomic vapor laser isotope separation
* laser medicine
* laser microscopy
* laser pulse compression
* laser spectroscopy
* nonlinear optics
* tunable diode lasers

Duarte's research has mainly focused on physical and laser optics and has taken place at a number of institutions in the academic, industrial, and defense sectors.

2. SELF-HATE - Adolf Hitler is likely to have been descended from both Jews and Africans, according to DNA tests. Samples taken from relatives of the Nazi leader show that he is biologically linked to the 'sub-human' races he sought to exterminate. Journalist Jean-Paul Mulders and historian Marc Vermeeren used DNA to track down 39 of the Fuhrer's relatives. A Belgian news magazine has reported that samples of saliva taken from these people strongly suggest Hitler had antecedents he certainly would not have cared for. A chromosome called Haplopgroup E1b1b (Y-DNA) in their samples is rare in Germany and indeed Western Europe. 'It is most commonly found in the Berbers of Morocco, in Algeria, Libya and Tunisia as well as among Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews,' Mr Vermeeren said. 'One can from this postulate that Hitler was related to people whom he despised,' adds Mr. Mulders in the magazine, Knack. Haplogroup E1b1b1, which accounts for approximately 18 to 20 per cent of Ashkenazi and 8.6 per cent to 30 per cent of Sephardic Y-chromosomes, appears to be one of the major founding lineages of the Jewish population. 'This is a surprising result,' said Ronny Decorte a genetic specialist who agreed that Hitler probably did have some roots in North Africa. 3. HYPOCRISY - In the United States of America, for 241 years, White people, and only White people, have always held complete, total control over the educational access and educational achievement of Black people and other people of color; but given their constant failure to raise the educational performance of people of color to mirror the educational performance of White students, accordingly, are we to believe White people lack the intellectual prowess required to be competent academicians? Or, are White people intentionally negligent or malicious academicians?

THE PHYSICAL PROWESS OF WHITE PEOPLE

 

Again, with regard to the scope of human potential, and without regard to race or sex, there was, there is, and there will always be someone faster, slower, taller, shorter, smarter, dumber, weaker, stronger, healthier, sicker, fatter, skinnier, more talented or less talented. These "differences" do not make us better or worse, but only different. Again, unfortunately, zealots of White Supremacy would have us to believe the White athlete is the pinacle of physical achievement and performance. As vividly broadcast "live" throughout the entire world via the Olympic Games and the World Track and Field Championships there's absolutely no credibility to claims of White athletic supremacy in any physical activity where people of color, who make up the majority of the world's population, have equal access to training and competition.

Segregation and discrimination in the United States and throughout the world intentionally prohibited people of color from access to and participation in athletic competition. Then, as people of color gained access to athletic competition their constant winning and exceptional performance became blatantly evident, and greatly concerned many White people. The Sociology of Sport Journal reported that since the 1930s, "there has been no American White woman who was world class in the 100, 200, or 400 meter dashes. All outstanding sprinters have been Black." In the 1990s, several Eupoean research studies focused on the constant success of the Black athlete and the impact of genetics, as did Runner's World magazine, and Sports Illustrated magazine. Golf, archery, swimming, ice skating, tennis, auto racing, mountain climbing, The X-Games, field events (shot put, javelin, pole vault, discus, etc.), and similar activities do not typically have facilities in urban or rural communities, or third-world or developing countries; plus these events are prohibitively expensive, and therefore, are not accessible to the overwhelming majority of people of color. However, when presented with an opportunity, people of color routinely excel, such as Arther Ashe, Althea Gibson, Serena Williams, Venus Williams in tennis; Debi Thomas and Surya Bonaly in ice skating, and Tiger Woods and Lee Elder in golf. For example, in track and field, with few exceptions, all world records are held by a person of color.

The outcome of the fight triggered race riots that evening—the Fourth of July—all across the United States, from Texas and Colorado to New York and Washington, D.C. Having created considerable animosity among White people and White print and broadcast media for his boisterous nature, changing his name, becoming a Muslim and a member of the Nation of Islam, and his refusal to be drafted, Muhammad Ali was freqently targeted by the media and the public to be dethroned by a cavalcade of Great White Hopes.

Mayweather fought McGregor on August 26, 2017 and won by a TKO in the 10th round.

Immediately after the fight, Mayweather announced his retirement, and achieved the longest active unbeaten professional career with 50 consecutive victories.

CONCLUSION

My favorite singer of all time is Frank Sinatra; not because he was White, but because he consistently demonstrated the highest level of performance in using his vocal instrument, including tone and phrasing, song selection, vocal arrangement, and album concept and execution. Yes, that's my subjective opinion, which is primarly based on facts that define his career.

Frank Sinatra was not a better dancer than Sammy Davis, Jr., but so what. Frank Sinatra did not receive more academy awards (he received two) than Katharine Hepburn (she received four), but so what. Sinatra's talent is unique to himself, and any assessment of his worth or talent should not be based on his race, sex, age, etc.

Frank Sinatra was known for being a fierce competitor, and equally important, as demonstrated by his public friendships with Sammy Davis, Jr. (Black), Jerry Lewis (Jewish), and so many other men and women of color and religious faith, Sinatra didn't care who did what, because Sinatra's wanted to work with only the best, the best musicians, the best arrangers, the best. To work with the best Sinatra embraced egalitarian principles, and he publicly chastised anyone who used racial or sexaul barriers to limit his creative genius and success. But again, if you weren't the best, the most creative, Sinatra was known for taking "affirmative action," showning no tact or diplomacy to immediately remove incompetent people - without regard to their race or sex - from his organization. That's fair.

The very first "music video" to receive an Academy Award® was presented to Frank Sinatra in 1945 for the following video, "The House I Live In."

Seventy-two-(72) years later, isn't it about time White people stopped embracing White privilege and White supremacy, and instead, make the "House We Live In" a place of liberty and justice for all?
